Psychologist II

Fulton State Hospital, Fulton, MO

 

SORTS (Sex Offender Rehabilitation & Treatment Services)

The Psychologist in this position will be responsible for completing annual assessments for sexually violent predators receiving treatment at SORTS-Fulton. These assessments are required by law (632.498 RSMo).

Specific job duties include reviewing medical, legal, and treatment records; consultation with treatment teams; consultation with Assistant Attorney Generals, prosecutors, and public defenders; interviews with clients; report writing; testimony for court; continuing education pertinent literature and research articles; supervision of pre-doctoral psychology interns and participation as a member of the Internship Training Committee; and supervision of post-doctoral residents and Psychologist I's.

Psychologists enjoy the benefits of an active and supportive Psychology Department throughout FSH. The hospital has an APA-accredited internship program with three interns per year. Psychologists actively participate in ongoing or novel research projects, and program evaluation, in association with the University of Missouri Institutional Review Board. FSH provides numerous quality trainings throughout the year, to continue striving toward hope and excellence in treatment. The hospital is Joint Commission accredited and emphasizes evidence-based treatments.

Fulton, Missouri, is a small town located about 30 minutes from Columbia and Jefferson City (the state capitol). The town is within an hour of St. Louis and about two hours from Kansas City.

 

Required Job Skills: Advanced clinical skills; comprehensive understanding of risk assessment and treatment of sexually violent predators; supervisory skills; ability to multi-task.

Required License: Missouri Psychology License
